About us

Our purpose

Tour de Bosc APS was founded in 2019 by a group of friends united by a deep connection to the mountain landscapes of the Province of Forlì-Cesena, including part of the Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona, and Campigna National Park. Our interest is not limited to these areas. It extends to any territory, each with its own unique natural, environmental, historical, cultural, and social characteristics.

The numerous traces left on this territories by man and nature are at the center of our attention and the object of ‘Tour de Bosc’. This is in fact the way we like to call our explorations, guided by curiosity, or simply by the taste of the outdoors and the company of friends.

Recently, we decided to turn this shared passion into an opportunity to put our diverse skills and experience into practice, offering services to those who share our commitment to understanding, valuing, and protecting the territories around us.

The message that we would like to communicate is that in territoriessuch as the Apennines—long shaped by human presence—ongoing stewardship remains essential. At the same time, there are areas where nature is allowed to evolve entirely on its own, without direct human intervention, and it is important that such places continue to exist. A remarkable example of this is the Integral Nature Reserve of the Integral Nature Reserve of Sasso Fratino.

Other corners of our region are going through a beautiful rewilding process as a result of a depopulation process that has affected the mountain areas all across Italy. in the whole of Italy. We believe that humans still have a vital role to play in this process: to look after the land and step in when needed. This means protecting our shared history, like historic buildings and landmarks, as well as studying and safeguarding those unique landscapes shaped by people and nature living side by side and their unique biodiversity.

Indeed, our main goal is environmental stewardship We believe anyone who lives in or visits a place has both the right and the duty to understand and study it thus contributing to its preservation and sharing it with others. In this regard, farms and farmers, assume a prominent role due to their activities: that of actual custodians of the environment.

This is why we believe tourism comes second to looking after the land, even if it’s still vital for helping the local area thrive. In fact, these two aspects can go hand in hand and actually rely on one another.

In our case, for example, taking over the management of an accommodation facility—the bivouac located on the plateau of San Paolo in Alpewas the 'excuse' that started us on this adventure. Currently we are developing a series of activities focused on environmental monitoring and research as well as public outreach opportonities for those who are interested to know more about this reality. Furthermore, we will try to provide a planning and design support to anyone wishing to implement projects related to their local territory.

In this way, we hope to show that even in an environment with strong natural characteristics, human presence can often be productive, provided it has the right goals and the right balance.
